la dee da Weekend

Today is beautiful.  It's finally sunny, the kind of sunny that makes you feel like the vitamin D is doing is job, because everything feels so.... happy.  And the perfect end to a nice relaxing long weekend.

California dreaming

This is Jenny, one of my closest friends, and the world's best travel buddy.  We have been all over the place together, our first adventure; moving to Taiwan with just our backpacks.  We'd been talking about exploring California for years, and started in San Diego with not much planned except picking up our rental car and hitting the road.

Girls Night!!

It's the start of a long weekend in Alberta, and me and my girlfriends are about to hit the town.  To be perfectly honest, I have almost as much fun getting gussied up as I do dancing the night away.  I won't be wearing the above, or anything like it, but I thought it would be some inspiration for the evening to come.

Take me back to Fall 2012

So far the L'Wren Scott Fall 2012 collection is my favourite to come out of Fashion week.  These images actually remind me of my Grandmother in her 20's.  She was oh so glamourous, always perfectly put-together.

put a little love in your heart.

Contrary to what you may have read, I don't hate Valentine's Day.  I actually love it, single or not.  When I was a kid my mom and I use to sit at our kitchen table for weeks before Valentine's day, surrounded by glitter, heart shaped stickers, stacks of pink paper and every red, pink and purple crayon I owned, making cards.  I would wake up on Valentine's day with a little present from my mom, along with a beautiful Valentine's Day card she had made.  Can't say I've grown out of pink or hearts, so February 14th remains top on my list. So since it's Valentine's Day eve,  we are making heart shaped chocolate chip cookies and watching the bachelor, and tomorrow for the big day we're going for cocktails and then watching 'The Vow'.

Can you believe this is the same dresser.  The best DIY you've ever seen??!  I have some plain old IKEA furniture that could use a serious touch of personality... More to come!
